Grammy’s Homemade Frosting

Finally found the taste of my youth. As a child my mother only made one frosting be it for cookies or cakes and this is it. So easy and delicious. Also very easy to customize. I used less milk to intentionally stiffen it up and I used it as a filling between 2 sugar cookies. Everyone was amazed how good the cookies were but credited the filling for their success. Thank you Betty!

I just used this for a friend’s wedding cake and it is perfect! The constancy is perfect for piping, it tastes wonderful and is so easy to make. I will definitely use this recipe again!

Taste great a little too sweet but it came out brown because of the vanilla extract something to keep in mind for aesthetic reasonsI cut the recipe in half for a half batch of cupcakes. Added 2TB of unsweetened baking coco and 1TB instant espresso coffee. VERY good. (I don’t like things overly sweet, so my additions toned down the sweetness a bit. Just a personal preference.)The children and adults in my storytime just loved the taste and smoothness of this icing

Ingredients:

1 box cream cheese
1 stick butter
1 tablespoon vanilla
With mixer mix well

Preparation:

Add 1lb bag powdered sugar, mix well
Then by hand fold in 1 tub cool whip. Awesome!
