Don’t worry, we’re not suggesting you mail your cookies wrapped in flour tortillas. We ARE suggesting that you layer tortillas with your cookies when you’re packaging them.
The science behind the weird hack comes from the moisture in the tortillas; when in a confined space, like a cookie tin, the moisture in the tortillas will fill the air, keeping your homemade cookies incredibly fresh. This will keep them tasting as great as they did when they came out of the oven!
The best way to use tortillas in this way is if you use a cookie tin for your packaging; you can find these at your local dollar store or grocery store, no problem. Then take a stack of parchment or wax paper and trace the diameter of the cookie tin on the stack of sheets using a pen or marker.
