Step #4: Peel
Peel out the rest of the rows of corn by sweeping your thumb across the cob, pulling at the root of the kernels with your finger.
Step #5: Pull Row Away
If you’re doing it right, your kernels should come out like this, whole and in all their glory.
If you continue, you’ll empty the whole cob cleanly.
Step #6: Strip Corn Clean
Unlike a cob with kernels separated with a knife, your cob will look completely carved out and frankly, almost sponge-like.
Step #7: Enjoy!
Now that you have whole kernels ready to eat, it’s time to slather on the butter and enjoy the fruits of your labor!
After you’re done snacking on your corn, enjoy the fact that you aren’t stuck picking corn shards from your teeth!
