I’ll be the first to admit that life in the South is far different than anywhere else. I was born and raised far below the Mason-Dixon Line where the trees grow tall, the summer get hot, and the skies are more beautiful than you could imagine. Some would say I’m partial (which I can’t deny!) but it’s hard to shake the southern spirit from your soul. Within one visit, you quickly understand.
One of the things the South is most known for is the delicious food. No matter where you go in the region, you’ll find loads of homemade goodies that will leave your mouth watering! If you were to ask what one of the most iconic southern desserts is, most would say it’s a hummingbird cake. This is a pineapple banana spice cake with a cream cheese frosting. It’s simple to assemble and will certainly please a dessert-craving crowd. Check out the recipe below to see how to make this classic cake.
